Love is blind

Love is blind, and lovers cannot see,
What is plain as day to you or me.
They chose to overlook every failing.
Thinking they can change what's ailing.
A blind eye is turned to selfish ways,
And excuses are made for moody days.
Contrary speeches are brushed aside.
The lovers pretend to take it in stride.
Sooner or later they’ll come to their senses.
It is too bad they let down their defenses.
The blinders come off and at last they can see,
What was so obvious to both you and me.
