Alzheimers

Alzheimer disease, is the most common form of dementia. There is no cure for the disease, which worsens as it progresses, and eventually leads to death.

More than 5 million people in the United States have Alzheimer's disease in 2013. One in three seniors dies with Alzheimer's or another dementia. Deaths from other major diseases such as heart disease, HIV/AIDS and stroke continue to experience significant declines, while Alzheimer's deaths continue to rise — increasing 68 percent from 2000 to 2010.
