During the reign of the Taliban, around three
million Afghanis fled to Iran as illegal immigrants. They are still not been
integrated there today. When 17-year old Mahi falls in love with the Afghani
student Heiran, her family puts up fierce resistance, and she must decide
between them and Heiran. Documentarist Shalizeh Arefpours feature film debut is
simultaneously a love story and a portrait of society; a sensitive account of
an unaccepted love that resists all prejudice.
