Risk of Brain Damage

Two Food Ingredients that contains Toxins

The brain is the most responsive organ in the human body because of its sensitivity to different signals coming from different parts of the body – all the positive and negative signals. The brain is also sensitive to different unhealthy activities such as not getting enough sleep, too much coffee or soft drinks and physical and emotional stress. The food that you are eating also contributes to the factors imposing risk of brain damage.
Risk of Brain Damage
There are foods in which the ingredients used contain toxins that are harmful to the brain. Harmful to the extent that it results to brain damage, if the amount of these toxins inside the human body is not controlled. What are these toxic food ingredients? You should have an idea at least on what are these toxic food ingre-dients; some of them might be on your kitchen right now.
There are two well-known food ingredients containing toxins that are harmful to the brain, and they are listed below.
Hydrogenated Fats (Trans Fat)
Hydrogenated fats or trans fats are commonly found in baked goods, fried and processed foods, margarine, and more. These are artificial foods and their molecules are unstable, which cause severe inflammation dis-rupting the normal process of the brain.
High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS)
Probably the most common toxic ingredient with worldwide production of billion pounds per year (estimation of 66 lbs. per person/yr consumption), HFCS is a well-known alternative to sugar because this substance is many times sweeter than the normal sugar. Though it is a good alternative, its side- effects are extremely harmful to the human body. Among the common side-effects of excessive HFCS intake is unusual increase of appetite that leads to obesity, diabetes and swelling of the brain. The damage takes place when the sugar from this substance reacts with the proteins inside the human body. This reaction forms plaque called Advanced Gylacation End Products – the substance that accumulates on the brain, damaging the cells and tissues.
You can find more documentation and sources saying that High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS) and trans fats are dangerous substances. Better avoid these toxic ingredient, eat fresh fruits to keep your brain healthy.
People are very much aware of the bad effects that trans fat or hydrogenate liquid oils can do to our health. Trans fat are found in commercially packaged foods and they are being used by most of the fast food restaurants because it can hold out better in food production process and it can actually provide a better shelf life. Bad trans fat can cause cancer, diabetes and it can increase the risk of heart disease. But according to research, not all trans fats are bad. There is some evidence that there is a good trans fat that can help in reducing the risk of cancer and it can help you loose weight and build muscle for a faster burning of unwanted fats in your body.
Weight-Loss
Since not all people are aware of the bad effects of trans fats here are some of the important facts you need to know about the bad and good trans fats.
The bad trans fad are processed industrially. They are man made and artificial. Hydrogenated oils are processed and it contains harsh chemicals like hexane which is a component of gasoline, high heat, pressure and a metal catalyst. Most trans fat are found in processed foods, junk foods, deep fried foods like French fries. The hydrogenated oil can cause inflammation inside your body. Because of the inflammation, these can clog your arteries which can result to higher risk of heart disease. Bad trans fat is really dangerous to your health, and if you will not eliminate or reduce your intake with the foods which contains this chemical, then your health is endangered. Before buying products, better check its label and see how high is its trans fat content. And because of the threat of bad trans fats, some companies are starting to use highly refined polyunsaturated oils like cottonseed oil, corn oil, soybean oil and the like instead of hydrogenated oils in processing foods. But this does not mean that it will not do harm to your body, the harm may be lessen but you still have to be careful.
Trans Fat
The trans fat that is good to your body is known as conjugated linoleic acid or CLA. Unlike the dangerous and man made trans fat, CLA is reported to have some benefit to aid both muscle building and it is known to help you loose weight. Conjugated linoleic acid is a hale and hearty natural trans fat. Milk and the fat within grass-fed organic animals like sheep, goats and cattle can supply natural trans fats. There are potential benefits if you will have natural trans fat in your diet. CLA helps you to loose weight without harming your health and lowering risk of cancer.
